Moments Captured By Eva Torresan Blog bio picture

This is a little about me...

I always get asked what got me into photography.  Well it has always been an interest and it became more of an obsession when I had my first child.  With a few too many losses in my life I recognize how important something as simple as a moment captured in a photograph can be.  A photograph that can really catch a persons true expression is one that can bring back a memory so vivid that you can hear their laugh or remember a part of their personality.  These qualities can sometimes fade with time.  Then a few years ago on mothers day I realized that some of us seem to always be behind the camera and get left out of  the photograph.  It is just as important for our loved ones to have memories of us as well.  I decided that this passion of photography could grow and I could photograph those families that are always short a person, the one behind the camera.  I absolutely love this part of my life.  It is fun, challenging and so rewarding.  I have had the chance to meet so many great people and be a part of the special memories in their life.  I fully appreciate how precious and important this job is and what an honor it is to be a part of their photographs.

I commit myself only to a select number of events throughout the year so that life is balanced and I am able to offer dedicated attention to my clients as well as my family.  Thank you for taking the the time to get to know a little about me.  I hope you will get in touch so we can talk more about your family events and how we can work together to turn your photo-stories into art.

I would love to chat and get to know about what type of photo session you are wanting to book...

Tanya + Ross = Alexander

I had an awesome morning with this little family this past summer.  We met up at Point Des Chenes and travelled around the beach there.  They brought along their nieces for some shots as well.  It was awesome getting to know you guys and maybe we will see you around the beach this summer!!

Stacey & Trevor | Engagement

Stacey and Trevor travelled from Ottawa for the week and we were able to schedule their engagement session at that time.  We had a lot of laughs and it was great seeing you guys!!!

Robbie & Karen

Okay I have scheduled some time to honestly make an effort to update this blog.  I love every shoot I have done and need to make sure I get them on here!!!  Introducing Robbie & Karen who have now been married for awhile lol.  I grew up with Robbie and we have been friends since as long as I can remember.  I knew Karen was an awesome chick because everyone in the Watson clan absolutely adored her.  I was honored to be asked to photograph their wedding and always love the excuse to get home to Manitoulin Island for a visit.  This was the most relaxed wedding and it is obvious that Karen and Robbie are meant for each other.  They glow when they are around each other.  The day was filled with simplistic elegance with a touch of vintage style…totally Karen.  The reception was filled with music from an awesome Island band and then from Karen herself as well as her friends in the band.  She has an amazing voice and loved that watching as she sang to Robbie and he looked so proud and full of love.  It was an amazing wedding Karen and Robbie!!!!

Keyonnah | Sneak Peek | Sault Ste. Marie Children Photographer

Keyonnah came to my studio for her photo session.  Her parents and I had really tried to do an outdoor session with her and even met up with her at Mockingbird Hill Farm once before the holidays.  It was not a success due to the cold day and her dislike for being confined in a snowsuit (well not like she told us but we will go with that anyway).  So to make sure that we got her photos done in time for her first birthday we met up for studio shots.  I had a feeling Sherrie would be bringing a lot of pink and so I set up the backdrop with the pink damask from Baddsass Backrops.  I am sure she loved Sherrie and I signing to her in unison…that is why she was laughing so much right lol.  So here is a little sneak peek of the first shot of the session.

Brinley | Manitoulin Island Lifestyle Photographer

Beautiful little Brinley is the daughter of some very good friends.  I had not been able to meet her until her photo session and was so excited to get to see her.

They had received their photo session as a gift from one of their good friends and so we planned it for a nice summer day.  Their home is a wonderful location and so we took advantage of it.

The summer sun was a little harsh and so we took shade beside a small little shed and it worked perfectly to provide some shaded light for me.

Again I am posting this a little late.  As a gift for my good friends I sent them a fave image printed on a gallery wrap canvas.  What better art:)

So check out the beautiful Brinley….

In case you are wanting to know where the adorable flowered headband was purchased you can follow this link :)

Jaime & Chris | Engagement Photographer Sault Ste Marie

Jaime and Chris met up with me at the Soo Locks.  It was an amazing evening!!  We shared the grounds with a couple of fox that seemed to think we were invading their territory.

It was great gettting to know Jaime and Chris.Chris and I shared some small town stories since he grew up in Espanola.  This is the little town I speed through when I am going home to Manitoulin.  There is a distinct smell on warm summer days that usually ends up being blamed on someone in the car:)

Anyway enough about that….  This is generally where I would say something like

“Hey guys I can’t wait for your wedding!!!”  however that has long past and I will share images with you down the road.

Brenden | Sault Ste Marie Lifestyle Photographer

Brenden and his family met up with me wayyy back in the beginning of the summer at Bellevue Park.  We wandered around a bit there and the boys played and oh yeah we grabbed some shots:)

It was such a nice day guys!!  It has been so awesome to see Brenden grow over the past year.

Charlotte Born Fabulous sneak peek | Newborn Photographer | Sault Ste Marie

Lil baby Charlotte was absolutely precious in my studio today.

She is so beautiful!

Angel & Danny | Wedding Photographer Sault Ste. Marie

Angel and Danny are the cutest couple.  Angel laughs at everything Danny does or says and rightfully so he is a pretty funny guy.  The two of them have some magic and I think their beautiful little daughter Isabella might be a large part of that.  Danny happens to be a cousin of mine through marriage and now Angel is as well (I know I probably didn’t have to spell that out for you).  There were some special moments with Angel and her daughter Isabella while they were getting ready.  Watching Angel and her mother spend time together while getting ready and then the natural transition of Angel getting Isabella ready in the same room – too sweet.  The ceremony was an event of close to royalty.  What were there guys…50 standing?  They have many special friends and family in their lives and many of them were there to support them.  Including many nieces and nephews.  It was a beautiful day and a rockin party.  The DJ really knew how to throw a party!!  Since their wedding I spent some more time with them in the fall for a family lifestyle session.  They are now expecting another lil babe and I can’t wait to meet little (him/her)….
